Payment Schedule

Understanding when and how you get paid helps you plan your finances. This guide covers LabelGrid’s payment schedule, thresholds, and methods.

You keep the large majority of the royalties your music earns. How much you keep depends on your plan — higher plans keep a larger share, up to 100% of your royalties on our top tier. A small distribution fee is deducted from the rest before your earnings are paid out.

How it works in practice:

  • Streaming and download royalties — your plan’s royalty share is applied, and a standard distribution fee is taken from the remainder. The exact percentage you keep on each plan is shown on the pricing page.
  • User-generated content (UGC) and YouTube Content ID — revenue from social/UGC platforms and Content ID carries a higher fee than standard distribution, because of the extra rights-management and claiming work involved. This is applied only to UGC/Content ID earnings, not your regular streaming royalties.

Fees are reflected in your statements. Your monthly statement shows gross earnings, any deductions, and your net payout — see Statements and Reports below.

  1. DSP reporting delay - DSPs report streams to us 1-3 months after they happen. This delay is set by each DSP, not by LabelGrid.
  2. Processing time - We verify and process reports
  3. Payment cycle - Payments issued on schedule

Payment issued to youSoon after, once any applicable payout threshold is met

Example: Streams from September typically start showing up on statements from late October through early December (about one to three months after the streams happen), then pay out on the next monthly cycle. So streams from January are typically paid in April or May.

Payments are processed monthly:

Payments initiated10th-15th
Funds arrive15th-25th (varies by method)

Payments are issued every month for earnings that have cleared the reporting period. If a payout threshold applies to your account (see “Minimum payout threshold” below), balances below that threshold are carried forward.

There is currently no minimum payout threshold. Cleared earnings are paid out every monthly cycle regardless of amount.

LabelGrid reserves the right to apply a per-account minimum payout threshold in the future. If one is ever applied to your account, it will be shown in your Dashboard (or you’ll be notified separately), and any balance below it carries forward automatically to the next cycle — no earnings are ever lost.

  • You’re paid every cycle today. With no threshold in effect, your cleared earnings pay out on the regular monthly schedule.
  • No earnings are ever lost. If a threshold is ever introduced and your balance hasn’t reached it yet, the balance carries over to the next monthly payment cycle automatically.
  • Where to check. Open your Dashboard → Royalties to see your current balance and whether any threshold applies to your account.

Your balance section shows the status of your most recent payment request:

StatusWhat it means
PaidYour payment has been processed and sent to your bank
Awaiting PaymentYour payment request is queued and will be paid soon (an estimated payment date range is shown)
Carried ForwardA payout threshold applies to your account and your balance didn’t meet it this month — your earnings have been rolled into next month’s balance automatically

”When will I get paid for streams from this month?”

Section titled “”When will I get paid for streams from this month?””

Typically 1 to 3 months. DSPs report streams to us 1-3 months after they happen — this delay is set by the DSPs, not by LabelGrid. Once we receive a DSP’s report and payment, your earnings are included in the next monthly accounting cycle.

”Why is my payment less than expected?”

Section titled “”Why is my payment less than expected?””

Check your statement for: platform fees, currency conversion, splits with collaborators, or timing differences.

Payment timing is determined by when platforms report to us. We pay as quickly as possible after receiving reports.

Update your payment info before the payment processing date. Changes after processing may delay that month’s payment.
