- Test on multiple systems
- Check binaural rendering
Don’t:
- Put lead vocals in extreme positions
- Over-use panning gimmicks
- Ignore the stereo fold-down
- Rush the Atmos mix
- Submit poorly rendered files
Prohibited Practices
Section titled “Prohibited Practices”The following will result in immediate rejection:
- Stereo upmixing — Automatic or algorithmic upmixing from stereo or mono sources
- Source separation — Extracting stems from stereo to create an immersive mix

- Missing elements — Vocals or instruments missing compared to the stereo version
- Version mismatch — Different duration, added elements, or a different recording versus stereo
- LFE abuse — Full-frequency content in the LFE channel (low-pass filter required)
Common Issues

|---|---|
| Vocals sound distant | Keep vocals in center/front |
| Mix sounds empty | Balance objects with beds |
| Too much movement | Subtle positioning is often better |
| Binaural sounds wrong | Check renderer settings |
