Bandcamp Integration

LabelGrid’s Bandcamp integration lets you upload releases directly to your Bandcamp account with full control over pricing, download options, and visibility settings.

  • Upload complete releases (albums, EPs, singles) to Bandcamp
  • Set album and track pricing
  • Enable “Name Your Price” (NYP) for flexible fan pricing
  • Control individual track download availability
  • Schedule uploads for specific times
  • Manage multiple Bandcamp accounts

Before uploading, you need to connect your Bandcamp account to LabelGrid.

  1. Click Distribution in the main menu, then click the Bandcamp tab
  2. Click Manage Accounts, then click Add Bandcamp Account
  3. Enter your account details:
FieldDescription
Your Bandcamp Email AddressThe email you use to log into Bandcamp
Your Bandcamp URLYour Bandcamp profile URL (e.g., yourlabel.bandcamp.com)
Your Bandcamp PasswordYour Bandcamp account password
  1. Click Submit to save

Security Note: Your credentials are stored securely and used only to authenticate uploads. LabelGrid staff cannot view your password.

For security, Bandcamp may ask you to confirm a new login. When LabelGrid first logs in to your Bandcamp account (right after you add it), you may receive a “Confirm login” email. If you do, you must forward it to LabelGrid.

Why this is needed: Bandcamp can ask for a security confirmation when it sees a new login. LabelGrid needs the confirmation link from that email to finish logging in.

Step-by-step process:

  1. Add your Bandcamp account credentials in LabelGrid and click Submit
  2. LabelGrid logs in to Bandcamp to check your details
  3. If Bandcamp wants the login confirmed, it sends a “Confirm login” email to your Bandcamp email address
  4. Forward this email to: [email protected]
  5. LabelGrid checks for forwarded emails every 10 minutes and stores the confirmation link
  6. The next time LabelGrid logs in (your next delivery, or when you save the account again), it uses the link, and your account’s Connection Status changes to OK

Setting up automatic forwarding (Recommended):

To avoid having to manually forward these emails each time, set up an email rule or filter:

  1. In your email provider (Gmail, Outlook, etc.), create a forwarding rule
  2. Condition: Subject contains “Confirm login” AND From contains “bandcamp”
  3. Action: Forward to [email protected]

That way, whenever Bandcamp asks you to confirm a login, the email reaches LabelGrid without you doing anything.

Why you may receive more than one confirmation email:

LabelGrid logs in to Bandcamp when you save your account, and can log in again when it delivers a release. Bandcamp may ask you to confirm any of these logins. If you’ve set up automatic forwarding, these emails are handled for you. Otherwise, forward the latest one to [email protected].

After you save an account, the Manage Accounts page shows its Connection Status and a Status Message with more detail. The status appears exactly as written below, including the spelling of confirmUrlRecieved:

OKLabelGrid can log in to your Bandcamp account. Right after you save, the Status Message says “Credentials updated by user. Verifying Bandcamp login…” while LabelGrid checks your detailsReady to upload. If you’ve just saved the account, wait for the check to finish

The queue displays:

  • Release title, artist, and queue item number
  • Destination account
  • Delivery time (Deliver at)
  • Album and track prices, individual track downloads, and visibility
  • Status

TranscodingYour release’s audio files are being converted during the uploadIn progress. If the item stays on Transcoding (or Uploading) for about an hour, it goes back to Pending automatically and is retried. If it keeps failing, it changes to Delayed, and that’s when to contact support

CompleteSuccessfully postedCheck Bandcamp to verify
DelayedThe upload didn’t go through as expectedHover over the status: we’re looking into it and will contact you if we need anything from you. If your account’s Connection Status isn’t OK, see Upload Failed - Authentication Error
CancelledCancelled by userNo action needed
DeletedYou archived the itemNo action needed

Cancel: Stop an upload that hasn’t finished (Pending, Uploading, Transcoding, or Needs Review)

  1. Find the item in the queue
  2. Click the Cancel button, then Cancel Item to confirm
  3. Status changes to Cancelled

Archive: Clear a Complete, Delayed, or Cancelled item

  1. Find the item in the queue
  2. Click Archive, then Archive Item to confirm
  3. The item stays in the queue with the status Deleted

LabelGrid accepts a new delivery of a release only when every earlier queue item for it is cancelled or archived. Cancel an item that hasn’t finished, and archive a Complete or Delayed one.

  1. Verify release metadata - Title, artist, and track info transfer to Bandcamp
  2. Check artwork - Bandcamp displays your release artwork
  3. Review pricing - Consider your audience and pricing strategy
  • Schedule during peak fan activity times
  • Consider time zones (scheduling is in GMT)
  • Leave buffer time for processing
  • Free with NYP: Maximizes downloads, some fans still pay
  • Low minimum with NYP: Balances access and revenue
  • Fixed price: Standard retail approach
  • Album-only: Encourages complete album purchases

Account Stuck on “awaitingConfirmation”

Section titled “Account Stuck on “awaitingConfirmation””

Cause: The confirm login email was not forwarded or not processed

Solution:

  1. Check your email for messages from Bandcamp with subject “Confirm login”
  2. Forward the most recent one to [email protected]
  3. Wait a few minutes for processing
  4. If still stuck, open your account from Manage Accounts, re-enter your password, and click Submit to trigger a fresh confirmation email

Cause: Bandcamp email may be in spam or blocked

Solution:

  1. Check your spam/junk folder for emails from Bandcamp
  2. Add [email protected] to your email contacts
  3. Open your account from Manage Accounts and click Submit to trigger a fresh confirmation email
  4. Check that your Bandcamp email address matches what you entered in LabelGrid

Cause: Account credentials are invalid, changed, or session expired. The queue item shows Delayed, and your account’s Connection Status isn’t OK.

Solution:

  1. On the Bandcamp tab, click Manage Accounts
  2. Edit your account, re-enter your password, and click Submit. LabelGrid logs in to Bandcamp again, and Bandcamp sends a fresh “Confirm login” email if it wants the login confirmed
  3. Forward the confirm email to [email protected] and wait a few minutes. Once LabelGrid has the link, the account’s Status Message says it will confirm your login automatically. If the Status Message shows “Connected” instead, Bandcamp accepted the login without confirmation
  4. Once the Status Message shows one of those two messages, go back to the Bandcamp tab and click Archive on the Delayed item. A Delayed delivery isn’t retried automatically, and LabelGrid won’t accept a new delivery of the same release while that item is still active
  5. Create a new delivery for the release. It uses your confirmation to log in, and your account’s Connection Status returns to OK once it goes through. Don’t create it before step 3 is done: a delivery that starts before LabelGrid has the confirmation link stops, and your account’s Connection Status changes to disconnected

What happens: Before creating an album, LabelGrid checks your Bandcamp page for an album with the same title as your release.

  • If that album has the same UPC or catalog number as your release, LabelGrid links it instead of creating a second album. The queue item shows Complete if the Bandcamp album already has all of the release’s tracks, or Needs Review if it has fewer.
  • If only the title matches, nothing is posted and the item goes to Needs Review so the possible duplicate can be checked first.

To replace a release that’s already on Bandcamp:

  1. Delete the old album on Bandcamp. While it’s still there, a new delivery links it or goes to Needs Review instead of uploading your changes
  2. On the Bandcamp tab, cancel or archive the release’s earlier queue item. LabelGrid won’t accept a new delivery of the release while that item is still active
  3. Create a new delivery for the release

A duplicate on Bandcamp is unrelated to streaming duplicate-ISRC handling. Bandcamp duplicates are matched by album title, UPC, and catalog number, not by ISRC, and resolving one doesn’t affect the other.

Cause: The account still has deliveries in the queue. LabelGrid deletes an account only once every queue item for it is archived.

Solution:

  1. On the Bandcamp tab, find the queue items for this account
  2. Click Cancel on any item that hasn’t finished (Pending, Uploading, Transcoding, or Needs Review)
  3. Click Archive on every Complete, Delayed, or Cancelled item
  4. Click Manage Accounts, then click Delete on the account

Cause: May be uploaded as private or still processing

Solution:

  1. Check that the queue status is Complete
  2. Check if “Make this post public” was enabled
  3. Log into Bandcamp directly to verify

  • Bandcamp’s API has rate limits that LabelGrid manages automatically
  • Very large releases may take longer to process
  • Changes to releases after upload require deletion and re-upload
  • Bandcamp-specific features like merchandise are not supported
