Artist Payouts: Paying Your Artists Through LabelGrid

Updated July 2026.

Yes — you can pay your artists through LabelGrid. Artist Payouts helps labels manage royalty payments to their roster: track earnings per artist, generate statements, manage expenses, and record payments, all from one place. Artist royalty management is available on the Basic plan and above.

ConceptWhat it does
Artist accountsFinancial profiles for each artist on your roster, tracking balances and earnings

  1. Royalties come in — When streaming platforms report earnings, LabelGrid credits each artist’s account based on their royalty split percentage
  2. Expenses are tracked — Advances, marketing, and other costs are deducted from balances
  3. Statements are generated — Monthly or quarterly summaries show what each artist is owed
  4. Payments are recorded — When you pay an artist, mark the statement as paid

To start using Artist Payouts:

  1. Navigate to Artist Accounting in the main menu
  2. The submenu lands on Artist Accounts, showing your roster’s financial profiles
  3. Artist accounts are created automatically when you assign royalty splits on releases

”Can I pay my artists through LabelGrid?”

Section titled “”Can I pay my artists through LabelGrid?””

Yes — LabelGrid’s Artist Payouts lets labels track each artist’s earnings, manage expenses, generate statements, and record payments from one place. Artist royalty management is available on the Basic plan and above.

Artist royalty management (Artist Payouts) is included on the Basic plan and above. Individual artist accounts always see their own royalties directly in the Royalties section of their own LabelGrid account.

”How are earnings assigned to each artist?”

Section titled “”How are earnings assigned to each artist?””

When streaming platforms report earnings, LabelGrid credits each artist’s account based on their royalty split percentage. Artist accounts are created automatically when you assign royalty splits on a release, so setting up splits is what powers payouts.

”How often are payouts made and is there a minimum threshold?”

Section titled “”How often are payouts made and is there a minimum threshold?””

LabelGrid pays out monthly with no fixed minimum threshold. Per the Terms of Service, a per-account payout threshold may apply and, when it does, it is shown in your Dashboard.

”Can I deduct advances and expenses before paying an artist?”

Section titled “”Can I deduct advances and expenses before paying an artist?””

Yes. You can charge expenses — advances, marketing, production, and more — to an artist’s ledger, and statements show earnings, deductions, and the net payable so you pay the correct balance.
