When a downgrade takes effect: Downgrades apply at your next renewal date. Understanding your plan limits
Section titled “Understanding your plan limits”Your plan limits are based on active tracks and labels — not your total catalog.
Active tracks are all tracks in releases that are distributed to at least one streaming platform (DSP). Tracks in draft or pending releases that haven’t been distributed do not count toward your limit. Tracks in releases that have been fully taken down from all DSPs also do not count — but if a release is still live on even one DSP, its tracks count.
Active tracks are counted by unique ISRC (International Standard Recording Code). If the same ISRC appears across multiple releases — for example, a track released as a single and also included in a compilation album — it counts as one active track, not two.
Active labels are all record labels that have at least one active (distributed) release. Labels with no distributed releases do not count toward your label limit.
For a fuller explanation of what counts toward your limits and how to free up space, see Release & catalog limits.
Exceeding your plan limits
Section titled “Exceeding your plan limits”What happens when you reach your track limit depends on your plan:
- Pro and Custom plans can go over their included track count. Extra active tracks are billed automatically at a per-track yearly rate — you don’t need to upgrade to add capacity. See the pricing page for the current per-track overage rate on each plan.
- Solo and Basic plans do not have automatic overage. To add capacity on these plans, upgrade to a higher tier.
Label limits work the same way across plans: to raise your label allowance, upgrade your plan (additional-label capacity is available on API plans — contact support to discuss).
LabelGrid GATE Plan
Section titled “LabelGrid GATE Plan”LabelGrid GATE is a limited plan designed specifically for users who want to use the WordPress plugin (LabelGrid Gate) without distribution.
What GATE includes
Section titled “What GATE includes”- Create and manage releases - Build your catalog within LabelGrid
- WordPress catalog sync - Your release catalog is automatically exported from LabelGrid to your WordPress website (synced twice daily). LabelGrid is the source of truth; WordPress receives the synced data.
- Pre-save campaigns - Create pre-save campaigns for your releases
- No distribution - GATE does not include distribution to streaming platforms
Who GATE is for
Section titled “Who GATE is for”GATE is ideal if you:
- Already distribute through another service
- Want your release catalog automatically synced from LabelGrid to your WordPress site
- Want to run pre-save campaigns for releases distributed elsewhere
For GATE pricing, visit our pricing page.
Canceling your subscription
Section titled “Canceling your subscription”If you need to close your account:
- Go to Subscription
- Click Manage Subscription
- Scroll to Cancel My Membership
- Click Cancel Membership
- Complete the cancellation survey
- Confirm your cancellation
What happens when you cancel
Section titled “What happens when you cancel”- Your subscription stops renewing at the end of the current billing period.
- You keep access through your paid-through date. Until that date you keep full access to your dashboard, and you can view, download, and export your royalty statements for the entire remaining paid period.
- Your distributed releases stay live during that period. Only new releases and distribution are gated once you cancel — you can’t submit new releases for distribution, but your existing releases stay on streaming platforms and your reporting remains available through your paid-through date.
- What happens after the paid period. If your subscription lapses or expires for more than 60 days without renewal — or if it ends for non-payment — LabelGrid may withdraw your content from streaming platforms and suspend your account. To keep your music live, renew before that point. If you only need to keep your catalog and reporting (without distribution), consider downgrading instead of canceling.
Payment issues
Section titled “Payment issues”Failed payments
Section titled “Failed payments”If a payment fails:
- A Payment Retry notice appears on your subscription page
- Update your payment method with valid card details
- The system will retry the charge
- Contact support if issues persist
Common payment issues
Section titled “Common payment issues”| Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
| Card declined | Try a different card or contact your bank |
| Expired card | Update with a new card |
| Insufficient funds | Ensure funds are available, then retry |
| Invalid details | Double-check card number and expiration |
Frequently asked questions
Section titled “Frequently asked questions”When am I charged?
Section titled “When am I charged?”Subscriptions are billed annually. You’re charged on the same date each year based on when you started your subscription.
Will I be charged again automatically?
Section titled “Will I be charged again automatically?”Yes. Your plan renews automatically each year on your renewal date using your default payment method. To stop auto-renewal, cancel before your renewal date — your access continues until the end of the paid period.
Can I get a refund?
Section titled “Can I get a refund?”Subscriptions are annual, upfront commitments. Per our Terms of Service, if you cancel voluntarily you are not refunded for the remainder of your paid period — instead, your access and your distributed releases continue through your paid-through date (see What happens when you cancel).
The exception is a billing problem on our side — for example a confirmed duplicate charge or a charge you didn’t authorize. If you think you were charged in error, contact support with the transaction details and we’ll review it.
If a charge already has an open bank dispute or chargeback, we can’t process any refund until that dispute is withdrawn — please withdraw it with your bank first so we can resolve it directly with you.
What share of my royalties do I keep?
Section titled “What share of my royalties do I keep?”Your plan determines how much of your streaming and download royalties you keep — higher plans keep a larger share. For how royalty share and distribution fees work, see Your royalty share.
How do I update my billing address?
Section titled “How do I update my billing address?”Update your billing address when adding or editing a payment method.
What currency are charges in?
Section titled “What currency are charges in?”All charges are in USD (United States Dollars).
Need help?
Section titled “Need help?”Questions about billing or your subscription? Contact our support team.
